Short Bus Owners Brad and Chad Everett have been rams Fans since their St. Louis inception. They purchased their PSLs for half price from a fair-weather fan after the 1998 season. That was the beginning of the new tailgating era. Needless to say that was a great time to buy them since the next year was the heavenly Super Bowl Year. The first year of tailgating was through Brad’s Blazer. However, they quickly outgrew the blazer, especially with the Super bowl Win in 2000. They knew they needed something bigger and unique. A quest began, and the Short Bus was born. The 1979 Chevrolet Short Bus was towed out of the wood line with the engine in pieces and a homemade Wal-Mart camouflage paint job. After a year of intense sweat and labor the Bus made its debut in primer black paint in 2001. Since then, the short bus along with its crew have grown well beyond their original plans. The Short Bus sports a rebuilt 350 engine, indoor/outdoor carpeting, home built cabinetry, vinyl seating, 10 disc changer with 6 speaker surround stereo, and a Rams blue and gold paint job. The Short Bus Crew expended as well. Halfway through the first year, a need for security was realized, and Joe Eichenseer (a.k.a. Bus Security) joined the gang. The security proved well except for the one Monday night game that Joe couldn’t make it due to a death in the family, and the bus was broken into and pilfered during the game. Since then the bus is never left unattended. The following year Grant Youngs was initiated into the group. Grant’s enthusiasm, creativity, and future Short Bus aspirations made him an excellent addition to the team. Overall, the bus has come along way in 3 years. It’s made every game down to the dome, as well as a statewide trek to Kansas City last year without any major malfunctions. Every home game the Short Bus and its Afro-Wigged crew sit perched on the corner of I-70 and Martin Luther King Bridge like a beacon of hope and salvations for all true Rams fans in the world. Rams Fans from all over the country have congregated at the bus to share in glorious wins as well as hellacious jeers to opposing fans making it’s presence known to all. All in all, Rams fans are embraced, and opponents harassed as all have an awesome time at the Short Bus. Next Time you’re by the bus, stop by and give a holler “ Hey Short Bus!!!”, throw on a wig and join in the fun while we all cheer on the Rams to another victory.
